Bredel Handles Nickel Plant Slurry

Bredel Handles Nickel Plant Slurry

A mine in Norway was originally using a piston pump to handle slurries used in nickel slurry processing. After considerable maintenance, downtime and problems with clogging and failing piston pumps the mine turned to Watson-Marlow.

They now operate several SPX40 and SPX65 hose pumps at 24 hours per day pumping process residues, mainly abrasive slurries, to filter presses or handling acids with high abrasive content.

With only the hose subject to the abrasive products, maintenance is simple and downtime minimised, which leads to considerable savings for the mine.
